My Mars jackets in quilted Liberty

I have a lot of little jackets in my wardrobe that I wear every day like cardigans. It allows me to indulge my passion for prints and achieve a comfortable and elegant look.
Unconditional fan of Liberty, I had a real crush on the new range of quilted fabric from Stragier . Right away, I imagined this fabric sewn into a small jacket thanks to the Mars jacket pattern from my book " My wardrobe to sew for the whole year ": an easy and quick project and a simple cut without darts perfect for this thick material.

I sewed my usual size but since this pattern is originally intended for a stretch fabric like fleece, the drape is quite snug. This is exactly what I was looking for since I only wear a t-shirt underneath, but for those who want a little more comfort, I advise you to sew the size above.
The pattern modifications were super simple: I removed the seam allowances and rounded the neckline, center front, and bottom of the jacket so I could add a "straddle" bias binding. Originally, I tried rolling it with a serger, but I wasn't happy with the result because the fabric was too thick. So I covered it with the bias binding.
I also shortened the sleeves because they were too tight at the wrist for this fabric and I really like wearing 3/4 sleeves. The bottom of the sleeves is also finished with bias binding.
In two hours, the fabric was cut, the jacket assembled and on my shoulders! Perfect project for a beginner and an immediate wow effect :)

For the first one, I chose the mustard Capel, a color that I wanted to mix with a total white look (and a few touches of gold) for a long time. For the second one, I really fell in love with the Liberty Joséphine and its pretty flowers. What do you think?
