Inspirations for sewing custom patterns #19 (special overalls)
In February, I suggest on my Instagram account to sew together a pair of overalls. The customizable pattern " Overalls ", which can be associated with all the bottom patterns, is already a year old and it is a model that you like very much.
For my part, I am going to sew a pair of velvet overalls with the new fabric from Atelier Brunette . In this article, I offer you pattern/fabric combinations based on inspirations from ready-to-wear. Happy customizing and happy sewing!
The iconic denim overalls are feminine at Sézane and you can sew a similar one by combining the overall top with the wide jumpsuit bottom . Opt for bows instead of the classic overall ties for an elegant look. As for the fabric, the organic cotton superdenim flex from 1083 would be perfect.
The overalls can also be a dress for a preppy look. Here, it is paired with the skater skirt and sewn in a Scottish tartan fabric from Pretty Mercerie .
Velvet is the perfect material for winter overalls. The corduroy from Mind the Maker is stretchy which makes it even more comfortable. The bottom pattern is that of the jumpsuit in its cigarette version .
Spring is almost here and, as a big lover of Liberty fabrics, makes me want a floral dungaree. With the same patterns as the previous dungaree and the Liberty Emma and Georgina cotton from Stragier , you can get this spring outfit.
For a more summery creation, choose the jumpsuit in its short version . A khaki cotton gabardine will allow you to reproduce this silhouette.
The last material you can use to sew your overalls: linen in its Ochre color from Atelier Brunette . The culotte skirt fitted at the waist and wide at the legs is the pattern to choose to make this summer outfit.
