The choice to be a 100% digital brand
In the summer of 2018, after deciding not to offer my custom dress line for the 2019 wedding season, the idea of not letting the dresses fall by the wayside and offering them to you as sewing patterns began to germinate.
After several months of work, I (finally!) launched the patterns a few days ago. They are only available in PDF format for download to print directly at home. I would like to explain to you the reasons that motivated this choice to be a 100% digital pattern brand.
The richness of the content
I hesitated for a long time about the format of the boards, the seam allowances in order to know what you preferred as a sewing experience. Then, I realized that, having no printing constraints, it was easier for me to offer you rich content that would please the greatest number. You will therefore find both large format boards (type A0) and A4 boards (and US letter) to stick. Concerning the seam allowances, the boards are available with and without margins depending on your sewing habits. For example, I find it more judicious to make adjustments on a pattern without margins and then add them later; or certain materials require seam allowances different from the standard 1 cm. In short, it's up to you to choose, it's all there!
Of course, this content could be even richer, but I also try not to make it too complex. This PDF format will allow me, I am sure, to offer you translations into foreign languages in the future and also an enlarged size grid. First things first :)
Flexibility
I am a very small company with ultimately few resources. Digital patterns are a great flexibility for me because I do not take risks on quantities of patterns to print. Because if I misjudge my sales and I end up with too much stock, it will limit my means to offer you new products.
A typo in the patterns, unclear instructions? I can update the pattern and allow future users to benefit from the improvements very quickly thanks to your feedback.
The ecological footprint
As long as the pattern is not printed, no paper :) No risk of overstocking and obsolete pattern that will end up in the trash or sleeping in a library; no overconsumption of paper where the whole pattern is printed when you only need certain pieces; the instruction booklet can be directly consulted on your screen without going through the printing box.
Sewing comfort
PDF pattern boards give you the option to print only your size for better sewing comfort. To do this, simply open the file with Adobe Acrobat Reader and use the layer display function. There is a layer for size. I also like being able to cut my fabric directly with the pattern and this is totally possible for you since you can reprint your pattern endlessly (not too much though otherwise we lose the ecological interest!)
Personal choice
In the five years that I have been working for myself, I have often regretted having created a company that was not nomadic enough. When I offered you wedding and bridesmaid dresses, I needed a showroom, Saturday appointments, a sewing workshop with a stock of fabrics, etc. For this new project, I wanted to integrate a little more nomadism and freedom into my professional daily life. As long as you are going to create your own job, you might as well do it on your own terms. I am also getting ready to spend a summer of travel and adventure without abandoning my business and this prospect excites me enormously.

Bonjour
