Inspirations for sewing your own personalized dress #10

Dresses are more often synonymous with summer and lightness than winter and bundled-up looks. Thanks to the customizable #MaRobeAtelierCharlotteAuzou patterns , sewing a dress is a creative game that can be played all year long.

For these sewing inspirations, I would like to suggest pattern/fabric combinations that are suitable for fall and winter. Think about LAYERING to keep warm: 50 denier tights minimum, if you are chilly a t-shirt underneath ( those from Uniqlo for example ) and a warm cardigan to complete your look!

The first look I'm showing you today combines long puffed sleeves and a midi skater skirt for volume. As for the top, it's the much more minimalist boat neckline that brings a bit of simplicity to the whole thing. The cashmere-inspired fabric is a Liberty called Lee Manor and whose warm colors are sublime for an autumn dress. Liberty is a fairly light cotton so I recommend lining it with a Bemberg-type fabric which has the advantage of being antistatic and will slide over your tights.

A jumpsuit is a good subterfuge for fall and winter. The classic wrapover is paired with wide pants and short (or 3/4) sleeves . I like to complete this type of silhouette with a tie belt, the tutorial for which you can find on the blog . As for the fabric, to keep fluidity, I would recommend a Tencel or viscose twill but with a certain weight so that it is not too light. For example, at Little Fabrics (155 g/m2) or at Stragier (190 g/m2).

For a more formal outfit, I invite you to play with fabric overlays and transparencies. Why not combine the camisole top with the gathered top on top? With puffed sleeves and a midi-length gathered skirt to enhance the light silk chiffon. To find a pretty star-inspired fabric, I went for a stroll on the Spoonflower site which prints fabric on demand thanks to a very varied pattern library. sewing inspiration association pattern fabric dress workshop charlotte auzou
A short little dress that will be perfect with your most beautiful mohair cardigans. The classic wrap is personalized with a pretty ruffle . It is completed by the gathered skirt and the 3/4 sleeves . For the fabric, a navy viscose with polka dots can be lined with a matching viscose veil .

A little more bare but so easy to accessorize with a jacket, the little red dress is minimalist with the straight skirt and short sleeves . Its pretty details come from the gathers at the neckline of the top " Grommes & Victorian collar ". A pure wool crepe will bring warmth to your work.

Merci

MARIE
